Maia's
Mission
Our Why
In February of 2022, our then 6 year old cousin, Maia, was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a subtype of Sarcoma which presented itself as a tumor on her rib. Throughout her battle, she has endured surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation, yet has never failed to amaze us with her courage and positive attitude. After being cancer free for a couple of months, we were met with the crushing news that her cancer had returned. We continue to be inspired by her journey each and everyday, and we wish to be a voice for her and others who are going through similar experiences. We hope that through our efforts and with the help of our community that one day Sarcoma will have a cure!
Get to Know the Founders
Hello! We, Gabriella and Nicholas Conjelko, are the proud founders of Strides for Sarcoma. We are twins and best friends! We are both in our junior year of undergrad. Gabby is studying Neurobiology and Physiology at Purdue University, and Nick is studying Molecular Biology at Indiana University. Upon graduation from undergrad, we hope to attend medical school where we can gain the knowledge and skills to further help those affected by cancer and other ailments. Thank you for helping support our dream of finding a cure for sarcoma!
