Maia's Mission

IMG_0993.HEIC

In February 2022, our then six-year-old cousin, Maia, was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma — a rare and aggressive cancer that appeared as a tumor on her rib. Throughout her journey, she faced surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation with unwavering courage and a radiant spirit. After months of treatment, Maia was declared cancer-free, only for us to receive the heartbreaking news of her relapse. Despite everything she endured, she remained a beacon of strength, joy, and resilience.

Maia passed away after a courageous battle, but her light continues to guide us. Her story fuels our mission and our hope for a future where no family has to experience this pain.

Together, we can make a difference — one step closer to a cure.

Get to Know the Founders

Hello! We, Gabriella and Nicholas Conjelko, are the proud founders of Strides for Sarcoma. We are twins and best friends! We are both in our senior year of undergrad. Gabby is studying Neurobiology and Physiology at Purdue University, and Nick is studying Molecular Biology at Indiana University.  Upon graduation from undergrad, we hope to attend medical school where we can gain the knowledge and skills to further help those affected by cancer and other ailments. Thank you for helping support our dream of finding a cure for sarcoma!

Strides for Sarcoma Incorporation, a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization.
